About The Mitzvah Project:
The Mitzvah Project, now in its tenth year, is one of the country’s most honored Holocaust education programs. It uses the power of live theater, history and conversation to educate high school and college students about the Holocaust and social justice. Three veteran actors, each with a compelling story about a family member’s Holocaust survival, deliver a 70-minute program consisting of a one-act play, lecture, and talkback. The program poses critical socio-historical questions such as: “Who decides the meaning of culture, race, and ethnicity?” “How is one’s identity determined?” and “Why do we demonize ‘the other?’”

Position Overview:
The Mitzvah Project is seeking an energetic team member who is aligned with The Mitzvah Project’s mission as well as a San Francisco Bay Area resident. The Outreach Coordinator will assist the program's founder, Roger Grunwald, in reaching out to high school teachers, principals, and superintendents in school districts throughout California and the U.S. and manage the program’s database. The goal of the outreach is to schedule presentations of The Mitzvah Project at high schools and colleges.

Key Responsibilities:

-   Conduct outreach to high school and college educators and administrators to promote and book The Mitzvah Project presentations.

-   Assist in scheduling and coordinating presentation events.

-   Develop and maintain relationships with key contacts in school districts and colleges.

-   Utilize CRM tools such as AirTable or Salesforce to manage outreach efforts and track progress.

-   Prepare and distribute promotional materials and correspondence.

-   Collaborate with the founder to strategize, track and optimize outreach initiatives.

 

Qualifications:

-   B.A. or equivalent with a strong interest in Holocaust education and social justice.

-   Minimum 2-3 years work or project experience 

-   Knowledge of and experience with CRM tools, e.g. AirTable or Salesforce a significant plus.

-   Experience with LinkedIn and other social media platforms.

-   Personable, self-starter with excellent communication and writing skills.

-   Comfortable and effective with phone communication.

-   Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

Position Details:

-  Part-time position: 20 hours per week.

-  Compensation: $30/hour.

-  Remote work (Mon-Fri) with flexible scheduling.

-  San Francisco Bay Area resident
